We all had a great evening at the Cambridge Drama Festival Quiz!
Questions on film, ballet, opera, television, radio and books as well as, of course, theatre, made for a varied spread of challenges, as well as the lateral thinking required for the interval round of Dingbat-style cryptic clues.
The rounds themselves were cryptically named: Across the Pond, Kids’Stuff, Ladies of Crime, Topping and Tailing the Bard. It wasn’t easy trying to decide when to play the team Joker!
Six teams battled it out, fortified by a handsome supper which must have left a few ploughmen going hungry that evening, but finally Barn Theatre, who had earlier returned the coveted (are you sure? Ed) Harry Lauder Walking Stick, ended up taking it back home again.
It was great to meet up with friends we hadn’t seen over the summer and tell each other about our forthcoming productions, and the icing on the cake was the £200 raised to support the next Cambridge Drama Festival!
